Analysis

The part of any coursework process that every student never looks forward to is the analysis. This is not the most fun anyone has ever had within the four walls of a classroom. What a joyous feeling I didn't have when I realised that we had not only to write our analysis, but to exhibit it in such a way as to show off our creative media skills. 'What fun!' I didn't think. 'Oh happy day!' And started miserably typing immediately for the deadline, which isn't for a while is next week.

Almost finished!

Yesterday we filmed the last shot that we needed, where I walk out of the building. While we were doing that, we decided to get some more shots that we could spread about the opening sequence as memories of the murder. We put them in and they look really good.
Today was mainly about sound. We added loads of ambient sounds to make the whole caboodle sound better. I think it's brilliant.

Much tired. So edit.

I stayed in until almost five o'clock yesterday editing our opening sequence. I put all the shots together, added credits and edited the appropriate colour filters. Shannon did the sound this morning. We have it almost finished now, apart from some general editing tweaks and two more shots that we need to shoot. We're planning on getting one of them today, and the other one we can get next week. I think it looks really good so far and I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Editing has begun

We have got (almost) all the shots we need now, so we have moved into the Mac suite and begun the editing process. I quite enjoyed acting in the film, and am excited to see how it turns out.

Filming

   On Thursday 23rd we successfully shot the bits that we wanted for the asylum cell scene, but on Friday 24th we couldn't find anywhere suitable to film the forest scene. We wanted somewhere with lots of trees and some kind of path, but it had been raining lots recently and everywhere that looked good in the Apex was waterlogged and very muddy. We plan to film this scene next Friday afternoon (31st) and hopefully it will be a lot dryer. If not we may have to find somewhere else...
   Today (Wednesday 29th) we captured some corridor shots for the inside of the asylum, and we plan to get the rest of these shots (standing in front of the desk etc.) tommorrow instead of Sophie and Shannon going to Manor Gardens, as we can get all the shots we need done on Tuesday 4th.
